Lewisville does not need a northern blowout every November. It does need a freeze visit when a hard cold snap is actually forecast. The damage is usually the backflow and any pipe that stayed full above grade, not the laterals buried in clay.
What the visit does
The controller is set so it will not call a zone during the freeze. Above-grade pipe and the backflow are drained as the assembly allows, then wrapped. Valves that were left open for a “just in case” drip are closed. A yellow cap or a wrap left on after the thaw is removed on the follow-up, because a protected assembly that cannot be tested is not a finished winter.
We do not sell a compressor blowout as the default Lewisville habit. If a forecast is cold enough that you want the lines cleared, say so when you call and that is the visit. If the freeze has already split a fitting, that is a repair, scheduled with leak repair once the ground can be worked.
Call (940) 239-0007 when a hard freeze is on the Lewisville forecast. A week of ordinary cold is not the same call.
